My Top 4 Bronzers!

Hi there!

So today I'm gonna do a quick review on my top 4 fave bronzers of the moment!

Bronzer is 100% my favourite make-up item to use as I love having bronzy/glowly skin all year round. I have quite the bronzer collection but these are my favourites as of this moment in time. As I wear fake tan pretty much all the time apart from when I'm naturally tanning in the summer, I find bronzers complement tans so much and also create the illusion of more defined cheekbones on faces that aren't quite as chiselled as others 'like myself'.

First up!

Estee Lauder- Bronze Goddess- 03 medium deep £32
I think this bronzer comes in four different shades so its worth swatching in store before hand. I do feel that this bronzer does run a little orange so wouldn't necessarily recommend for the use of contouring. Also if you prefer more browny toned bronzers this one would probably not be for you. However I really like orangey bronzers and i feel this one is perfect to add warmth to the face when your looking a bit pale. The formulation of this product is beautiful; It's very pigmented (use a light hand), feels super soft and very easily blend-able on the skin. Also it is a matte bronzer, which i personally prefer and it will last all day on yo face. Now It is an expensive bronzer, but honestly it is so worth it for such high quality product.

MAC mineralize skinfinish- Give Me Sun £23
Definitely the most orangey bronzer I own. But I Love it! Perfect for when I'm on day 1-3 on my fake tanning week as it complements the skin tone beautifully. Being a mineralize skinfinish the powder is a lot softer and lightweight then your average bronzer which I find works perfectly for gliding over the skin without ever looking patchy. Obviously it gives A LOT of warmth to the face but if used with a light hand can look so beautiful especially if paired with a nude lip. I find it goes well with peachstock lipstick by mac.

Nars Laguna bronzer £27.50 (If brought as full size)
Now, I recently ran out of my full sized laguna so I had to take a picture of my orgasm/laguna duo pallet instead. This is probably one of my most reached for out of all the bronzers I own as it's the perfect shade for everyday wear whether I'm tanned/not tanned as it's a more natural shade. I think this bronzer is perfect for fair to medium skintones but if you have darker skintone I would probably recommend trying casino by nars instead (which is also a beautiful bronzer). As this is a cult classic I won't go into much detail as you've probably heard it all before. However as you can probably tell this one leans more browny undertones rather than orangey which I find perfect for contouring. It has the tiniest amount of gold shimmer in it which can hardly been seen when applied so don't worry if you're a matte lover. It's easily blend-able and build-able and also has lovely buttery feel to it.

The Balm- Bahama mama £15
YES YES YES!! omgard i feel this brand is so underrated it frustrates me. I have tried a few of their products and I especially love the mary-lou manizer highlighter. I am obsessed with it. Anyways, This is the bronzer I've been using everyday for a while now and it is just PERFECT in my opinion. There's not a bad thing I can say about it. Well I guess you could argue the packaging gets super grubby but that does not bother me in the slightest tbh. I actually really like it when a product gets dirty I feel it expresses a person's undying love for it. It's soft, pigmented, matte, easily blend-able, fab staying power, unique packaging, I could go on.. It's just the perfect brown toned bronzer. Also It's the cheapest out of all the bronzers I have listed and I'm gonna say it..... IT IS MY FAVOURITE. I 110% recommend without a shadow of a doubt.

Thanks for reading and I'll leave you with some swatches (sorry they're not the best). see you next time!

LUSH haul

The other week I was browsing online and stumbled across the lush website. I realised I haven't brought anything from lush for ages so it only seemed right to place an order. Especially as they have all their Halloween/Christmas things out. I also went into my local lush store and grabbed a couple more things too.

What I got-
Lord Of Misrule bath bomb
Sparkly Pumpkin bubble bar
Butter Bear bath bomb x2
Northern Lights bath bomb
Cinders bath bomb
So White bath bar
Yog Nog soap
Baked Alaska Snowball soap
Rock Star soap
Miranda soap
Holly Golightly bubble bar
Snowcake soap
Sea Vegetable soap
The Melting Snowman bath melt
and a repurchase of Mask Of Magnaminty and Dark Angels cleanser (my fave)

I know, I went a bit OTT. Especially with the bath bombs even though I do not have a bath in my house. Although there is a suitable explanation for this. I'm actually going away with my boyfriend and some friends in just under 2 weeks to a cottage in wales for 5 nights and there is a bath there so obviously I had to go a bit wild in lush. Any leftover bath bomb's that I don't have the chance to use will be given to my little cousin who is another Lushy lover so nothing will go to waste.

As I am yet to try the bath stuff out I thought I'd do a quick review on some of the soaps I've tried so far. Lush soaps are probably my favourite things to buy from lush. Mainly because you can use them in shower so they're the product I get the most use from. I must admit, when looking for a lush soap I don't really fuss to much about what good things it does for the skin. So to me, its all about the scent!

First up- Yog Nog soap

This is one I brought online so I had no idea what it was going to smell like. When I received it I was super happy. This one smells delicious! I've never smelt anything quite like it before so that alone makes it special. To me it smells of cinnamon, toffee and fudge all rolled into one. It's also the creamiest of the soaps I brought so can't hold it for to long as it starts to melt a bit. To be honest it actually feels like one of their massage bars rather than a soap however it does a lovely job when showering by moisturising and making the skin smell almost edible ;). I think this ones actually my fave and I'm a bit gutted its only available during Christmas time.

Rock Star soap-

OmG! Another one I've never smelt anything like before. I genuinely can't explain the smell of this soap. It's so unusual! the only way I can think to explain it in my own words would probably be a very sweet bubblegum playdoughy smell (but in a good way). Haha honestly that is all I can think of. According to Lush in this soap is rapeseed oil, coconut oil and vanilla absolute so there you go. I find it to be not as moisturising as the yog nog soap but the scent however lingers on the skin for ages.  I would definitely recommend this soap. Also I would like to add, as you can see from the image, I prefer to chop the soap into little squares or triangles rather then use the whole block at once just purely because I feel its more hygienic and lasts a lot longer!

 Baked Alaska Snowball soap-

Another beautiful smelling soap. This is Baked Alaska soap and I'm pretty sure (could be wrong) it's only around during Christmas time so grab some quickly! When I got home I was actually a bit disappointed with the way the girl in lush cut my chunk because my piece smells mainly of only the one scent which to me smells like pumpkin (the red bit) . However I will be repurchasing this again but just making sure I get a more colourful slice next time! In this one there is grapefruit oil, Ylang Ylang oil, rapeseed and coconut oil so all those good things for the skin.

That's it for today! as always, thanks for reading and hopefully I will do a review on some of the bath bombs I got very soon.

Meet my cat

Hellooo welcome back to my blog!

So today I've decided to do a blog post about my cat. I'm not to sure why but I thought it was only right to introduce you to her now as I will more than likely mention her in future blog posts. So basically, if you haven't already guessed, I am, what most people would call, a crazy cat lady. To cut a long story short, I just love cat's! my cat, my mom's cats, other peoples cats and probably even your cat. If I could have a house full of cats I 100% would aha. I reckon that people who don't like cats who follow me on instagram/ facebook ect must get so annoyed with my extensive cat image uploads and cat video and photo sharing.  But come'on how can you not share a video of cute kittens bobbing their heads in sync to a funny song!

Here she is! This is Alba, nickname, silver banana (silly name myself and my boyfriend gave her when she was a baby) and she is now just over 2 years old.

Even though I love all types of cats I do however have a favourite breed and have a huge soft spot for the 'British short hair'. Before getting Alba I did a lot of research into the British shorthair breed finding out about their background, nature and many others things too. I found out they come in various colours, 'blue' being the well-known breed colour which is a dark grey. Alba is actually a lilac colour so she is a lighter shade of grey but you can also find them in other colours like cream, black, colour point, brown and more. The reason I'm so in love with the breed is because of their teddy bear-like features. Distinctively chunky shape, large chubby round head, big beautiful eyes, soft dense coat and their chilled out, easy going and affectionate nature. People say cat's aren't loyal like dogs are but for some reason Alba is different. She depends on me a lot, whether it's because I feed her separately to my moms cats so she see's me as her master, whether it's in her nature to have one specific favourite human or whether she just likes being in my company I do not know. What I do know is I feel so blessed to have her in my life and wouldn't change her for the world. However it would be nice if she left me to go to the bathroom on my own a lot more (she's a bit of a stalker aha). Alba was actually a gift from my boyfriend for my 18th birthday and I have been in love ever since.

Thanks for reading!
If you want to see more about Alba or find out more info about the breed just leave me a comment below!
I will now leave you with some pictures of alba throughout her life so far.
See you soon,
Katherine x

August Favourites

I'm back with my August faves!

1) Sleek blush- Life's a peach
My favourite blush of the summer! I love anything peachy/orange (especially when I've got a bit of a tan) so as soon as I saw it obvs I had to pick it up. It's nowhere near as freighting as it looks it the pan so don't worry. It's actually not as pigmented as the other sleek blushers I own however I find this a plus as you can build it up gradually. I find it to be very blend-able, have great staying power and really does give a peachy glow to the skin. Also I've heard its a great dupe for MAC peaches ;]

2) Nars pure matte lipstick- Tashkent
I brought this lipstick as a blind buy a few months ago off asos as I needed a new nude matte lipstick. When I first got it I was very impressed with the colour payoff and staying power although was not happy about how it dried out my lips. However after abandoning it my makeup draw for a while, I thought I'd give it a second chance. Now I love it! I found that by putting a thin layer of lip balm or a lip primer under it works wonders and it still stays matte. I would say this nude offers more brown/peachy undertones rather than pink undertones and provides full opaque coverage to the lips. I find that all nudes look different on different skin tones so would recommend testing it out before you buy it.

3) Real techniques- Blush brush
Ok, so everyone knows how amazing these brushes are so I won't go into to much detail. However I HAVE to mention how amazing this brush is for applying bronzer! I went on holiday to Tunisia with my boyfriend in July and came back with a bit of tan so I went a little mad with the bronzer. This brush is the perfect tapered shape for getting it all them places around your face that you wish to pack on the bronze! not to mention how soft it is!

4) Weleda skin food
one word- AMAZING. By far the most rich, hydrating face and body cream I have ever used. If you don't mind feeling a bit greasy after application you will love this and trust me it is worth it. Luckily I have a back up of this already as I used pretty much all of this one when I was abroad. After a long day in and out of the sun (I wore SPF) after a shower I would apply an aloe vera after sun jel and then apply this all over and the next morning my skin would feel amazing. It you suffer from dry skin I'd highly recommend skin food. Not only does it get the job done it smells lovely. Also great if you want to beat the air conditioning on long haul flights from giving you dehydrated frog skin. My boyfriend also loved it a bit too much :|

5) Eylure False lashes- Naturalites
I've recently got back into wearing fake lashes and these are my all time faves. I find they look so natural on the eyes, stay on all day even with the glue they come with and are super quick and easy to apply. I just cut them down to fit my eye shape, apply a bit of mascara to blend my natural lashes with them and away I go. Love them for day and night.

6) Maybeline- The rocket volum' express waterproof mascara
Again, another product I took away with me on my jollies. To be honest I've never been a fan of waterproof mascara. I've always found it such a pain to remove it at the end of day. This until I discovered cleansers about a year ago. I always use to remove my makeup with remover wipes and as the waterproof formula is so stubborn found chunks of my lashes would come off with the mascara. However I use it more often now as I take my makeup off with a gentle cleanser (bodyshop camomile cleansing oil) and I love it. I find this mascara holds a curl so much better then a non waterproof mascara and also does not dry up as quickly as others. I've had this mascara for two months now and its still going strong, even after everyday use.

7) Soap and glory- Butter yourself moisture lotion
This smells incredible! the main reason I bought it really. But not only does it smell delish it also does a nice job of nourishing the skin, not as great as other body lotions I've tried mind. However the smell makes up for it and that's why it's in my faves. I cant really explain it but if your going to boots some time soon please give it a sniff and i'm sure you will know what I mean.

8) Models own nail polish for tans- Flip flop
My summer nail colour! pretty much wore this on my nails for the past 2 months. I love it! My perfect pastel neon colour for summer. I also own the beach bag from the same collection and I find the formula of these nails polish's to be fab. I find them quick-drying, easy to apply, non-streaky and the colour payoff, well, you can see for yourself is amazing. I quickly applied 2 coats on my nails to show you (as you can see I'm not the best nail painter in the world) aha but you can see how impressive the colour results are.

9) Elizabeth Arden- Eight hour cream
I only have this in the small size but it has lasted me ages. Like the skin food, I find this to be another rich, intensive, hydrating cream that does wonders for your skin and a lot less lighter and kinder for the face. It has an SPF of 15 so great to use under a foundation that doesn't have a SPF in. The only thing I dislike (which isn't even a major dislike) about this moisturizer is that the scent is a bit overpowering. However I love it and have been using it for a while now and honestly I believe this is what has made my skin look a lot brighter and healthier!

So there you go!
hope you enjoy

Beauty products I've been lovin

SUP guys!

Hope all is well. So today I've decided to dedicate my second post to products I've been loving over the past few weeks. Firstly I'd like to apologise for the rubbish picture quality. I've recently lent my camera to a friend who is opening up his own restaurant in Birmingham and needs to take some shots of his new pride and joy. So for now I am having to take pics off my iPhone. Anyways let's get to it!

So here they are! My fave products of the moment.

1) MAC mineralize skinfinish in soft and gentle- I purchased this product about 3 weeks ago when I stayed in Birmingham with my boyfriend. We didn't do much for valentines so he surprised me with a two night stay in a hotel in Birmingham so I could do as much shopping as I wanted whilst we were there(which was great!) . Anyway back to the product. Believe it or not but this is my first ever MAC product. As only getting a basic wage every month I can't really afford to be splashing out loads on high end makeup at the moment (and we all know how expensive MAC makeup is) but I'd been wanting a mac highlighter for so long so I rushed straight to Selfridges and thought I'd treat myself ;] I love highlighters because I always wear quite matte foundation as my skin type at the moment is quite oily and its nice to put a bit of shine (which doesn't look sweaty) on my cheek bones and down the bridge of my nose. I wear this everyday and as soon as it runs out I'm sure I'll be straight back in MAC to re-purchase it or even try out one of there newer ones!

2) Alien by Thierry Mugler Perfume- Alien is by far my favourite perfume of all time. I've loved it for years and it's still my favourite scent. I receive a fresh bottle every Christmas off my mom and I always count it as one of my favourite xmas pressies. I only use to wear it on special occasions as it quite an over powering scent I didn't want to knock my friends out with the smell. However, just before Christmas I was on Debenhams online and saw they were selling a little 15ml bottle called a refillable stone. As it was on sale at the time I just couldn't resist, so I ordered it as I thought its the perfect size to pop in my handbag and carry around with me on the go and now I use it pretty much every day. I would say it's definitely my signature smell. If you haven't tried Alien be sure to check it out, might not be for everyone, but I'm sure if you like floral, woody, amber scents you will love this!

3) Sleek makeup (matte me) matte lip cream in the colour 'birthday suite'- WOW. Ok so I first discovered sleek makeup about 6 months ago when I watched a haul video of one of my favourite beauty gurus on YouTube. I think sleek makeup is amazing! there blushers are so pigmented and not pricey at all. some point in the future I plan to do a review on all my sleek products so will get more into detail about them when that day comes. But for now back to this! I was in superdrug about two weeks ago and was checking out the sleek lipsticks. To be honest I'm not a massive lipstick fan which doesn't make sense as I own quite a few lipsticks (I know, silly right?) I dunno why, it's just I'm constantly either licking my lips (hungry all the time lol) and touching my face which makes it smudge. However, if I am to wear anything on my lips, it's ALWAYS a matte lipstick. Lip glosses, creamy and shine lipsticks just don't work for the reasons being stated above. So I came across this matte lip cream! I was truly amazed, Being creamy when first put on the lips makes it easy to apply, but within about a minute it dry's matte. And trust me, this stuff doesn't budge! to actually get it off my lips at the end of the day I have to use a makeup remover wipe. I have been using this so much the past couple weeks and I am lovin' it! I got mine in the colour birthday suit as I much prefer a nude lip on a day to day basis but will definitely be repurchasing this is a brighter colour for nights out etc.

4) collection lasting perfection concealer in the colour cool medium- As you are probably aware if you read a lot of beauty blogs this is pretty much everyone's favourite concealer at this moment in time. And I see why because it is amazing! I won't go to into depth about it as you've probably read about this concealer a million times on other blogs. Basically for someone who doesn't get much sleep at all (like myself) and suffers from dark bags under the eyes (like myself) this is perfect for you. Even though the consistency of this product is quite thick I don't think it looks cakey at all. The coverage is absolutely crazy as it covers up all your blemishes and leaves your eyes looking wide awake! I must be honest though, what were collection thinking when they made the packaging! Now if you are an adopted mother or even father (cause you know, boys can wear make-up too guys!) of this product you will know how irritating it is when the writing rubs off super quick onto your hands and leaves the packaging looking a bit cheap (you know like something you would have in your makeup (pencil case) bag as a 10 year old). Never the less, its about what's in the inside that counts and the insides of this product are fab so I definitely highly recommend!

5) Carmex Lip Balm in cherry flavour- My new favourite lip balm! does exactly what it says on the tin. It soothes, it protects, it moisturises. For me there are three stages of poorly lips. The first stage being sore and red, second being sore and dry and the third being dry and chapped. The first stage is always the worst stage for me. Before I discovered carmex I use to used Vaseline and palmers cocoa butter formula which are still great lip savers but are much better for the second and third stages (if you get my drift). Carmex can take care of all three stages for me! and to be honest if you catch the first stage in time with this product you don't even reach second stage which is great! If you suffer from poorly lips get your hands on this miracle worker.

6) Umberto Gianni grunge glamour tousled salt spray- Now I got this product in part of a gift set about two years ago and have only just rediscovered it and I am so glad I did. To be honest with you, I'm not really a hair obsessive. I never do anything special with my hair. After recently cutting it very short over the past 8 months it's became so much easier to control. I hardly ever use heat on my hair, always let it dry naturally, never straighten or curl it unless it's a really special occasion and dye it every few months. Luckily I was blessed with very thick wavy hair which I do love having the majority of the time as its easy to tame. I wash my hair about every 2/3 days and never use condition(SHOCK HORROR) aha I know a lot of you with probably be thinking why why why? but it's so good for your hair! but personally I just don't like the feel of having soft shiny hair. From early teens I've always had the messy style hair, I dunno I just think its suites me better as I wouldn't count myself as a proper girly girl even though I love all things beauty and fashion (sorry if I'm not making any sense). I've went off subject again, anyway back to this. I love Umberto Giannini products I have purchased a few over the years and this is my fave. As I go for the messy beach hair style, salt spray is a must. On the back of the product it says to spray evenly through damp hair but I spray it in my hair when its dry and I think it works better that way. It doesn't leave your hair looking greasy or anything like that, just a nice lived-in texture and beachy style and as it says on the bottle come-to-bed hair ;]. Quick tip- to achieve a more wavy beach hair style with this product, spray on dry hair, tie hair is a messy bun and sleep with the bun in. wakeup, take the bobble, band, scrunchie or whatever you call it out and wallah! You will have the hair of a Victoria's secret model rolling around on the beach in the Bahamas (Well, a girl can at least dream).

7) Lush cosmetics dark angels face and body cleanser- I love lush, like many other millions of people around the world I presume. I just love every thing about the place, the smell, the appearance, the products, EVERYTHING. I was first introduced to lush when my aunty brought me a gift set for Christmas two years ago (can't remember what the gift box was called, sorry) and I loved it. So ever since then I've been trying out their products. Up until recently I realised I have never tried one of their cleansers. So I went into a lush shop and asked about a cleanser which would help control my oily T-zone and a sudden break out at the time and one of the workers recommended dark angels. On the pot it says that dark angels has mud, charcoal, black sugar, organic avocado oil and many other lovely ingredients in it too and all of these ingredients help reduce spots and oiliness in the skin, so I was told. I love this cleanser it really does work for me on my skin. I have read reviews on this product and some people have said they don't like how it takes a while to wash off the face as the charcoal in it is black and it is quite stubborn to wash off which is true. But for me, this isn't a problem as it does the job and I don't mind that it takes a bit longer to wash off my face. I brought the 100g size pot for bout £6.something which is fine as I've already used it about 6 times and still got loads left. It's recommended to use it only once or twice a week which I do and in all honesty has left me feeling very fresh faced and spot free! so if you have problem skin like me sometimes, get down to lush and get yo self some dark angels.

8) Neutrogena visibly clear blackhead eliminating daily scrub- If you suffer from blackheads, this is a must! I use this every day and even after the first use I noticed a difference to my skin in appearance and texture. My skin feels like a new born baby's after using this (swear down)! The micro-beads are very small so doesn't feel like it scratches the skin. It definitely purifies the skin and cleanses deep into the pores which makes your pores look visibly reduced. Honestly, it's just my fave everyday face wash at the moment.

9) Witch blemish stick- I use to use the product years ago and was as impressed with it then as I am now. To be honest, I totally forgot this product existed until recently I was having a gander around boots and came across it (yesssss!) obviously I picked it up straight away. For only £2.something this is a definite must have. Now I'm not gonna lie and say if you put this on your spots they will completely disappear because they won't unfortunately. I don't even think there is a product out there that can do that is there? anyhoo, I can tell you from my own personal experience, it does visibly reduced redness and spot size. I put it on my blemishes just before I go to bed and in the morning in all honesty they have reduced in size and colour. Love this product, and I am so glad I found it again. If you have ever tried it let me know in the comments!

10) Garnier, Intensive 7 days ultra-replenishing lotion in very dry skin- Last but not least, This is my final product I have been loving. I don't actually suffer from dry skin at all, I only really use a body moisturiser when I'm on holiday to keep my skin feeling hydrated after being in the sun all day. However, my mom brought home a few bottles of this body moisturiser after she went on a trip to Superdrug in all different skin types and scents (she's a bit of a moisturiser hoarder, sorry mom love you) and she said I could have this one. So after a shower I've been moisturising with this product and wow does my skin feel great! even though I don't have dry skin this product has just made my skin feel extra smooth! very very pleased with this one, will definitely be taking a bottle of this with me on my holidays this year.

Ok and that's it! wow I've only just realised how long this post is. If you do give this a good'ol read I do hope you enjoy it, sorry if it's a bit long, I do have a tendency of 'waffling' on a bit hehe.
Anyway will see you next time!

love Katherine

P.s these are all my own opinions and I'm sorry if you do purchase these products and you don't feel they work as well for you as they did for me.

The birth of cuddders

Hello is anybody there? hehe

So as you can tell this is my first ever blog! It only seems right to start of by introducing myself, briefly explaining my life and what my future blogs will be about. Lets get started.
My name is Katherine Cuddeford.
I am nineteen years old, born and raised in England. When I finished school in 2011 I went straight to college and studied photography for two years. Successfully passing my course I decided against going on to uni (for various reasons) to study it further and I now work in retail in a food shop. Yes, that's right, a food shop. It's not my dream job (even though I'm not sure what my dream job actually is) but it gets me by nicely for the moment whilst I'm still living at home with my parents and don't have to worry about paying any bills yet. I have a cat named Alba who I love to bits! (crazy cat lady alert). Ermm what else is there to know about me, oh I have a loving boyfriend who has stuck by my side for the last two and half years (sorry Sam, almost forgot to mention you there) and finally, I am a massive dreamer of all things crazy, weird and wonderful!

To be honest with you, I was quite apprehensive about starting my own blog for a long time. I am one of those people who doesn't have much belief in myself at times which causes me to give up on a few things. I'm always stressing about stupid things like, I'm not good enough, there's just no point. It can be very frustrating.  However I wouldn't say I'm not a confident person because the majority of the time I am. It's just when it comes to certain things like what I love doing, what I want to achieve, I freeze up, tell myself I'm not good enough and then give up . We live in a world where there is so much opportunity to do what we all love but so many of us share the same dreams and passions which can make me feel a bit insecure at times because it makes me feel like there's always so much competition. If you know what I mean. But I don't want to be like this anymore! So I figured maybe starting a blog will help me to become a stronger more confident person in time by possibly talking to new people and expressing my interests online.

Anyways, So I am very much interested in all things beauty and lifestyle related. When I'm not working or busy with day to day life I am forever online watching Haul videos on YouTube, checking out interesting blogs, seeing what celebrities are wearing on Instagram and the daily mail and also what new beauty products beauty bloggers recommend on various social networking sites. So If you would like to come on this journey with me give me a follow and I promise it will get more interesting!
Thanks for reading =]
